10,000 MOMENTS OF MINDFULNESS

A Meditation Retreat Cultivating
Awareness, Insight and Peace

10000 Moments of Mindfulness For thousands of years people have used retreats as a way to revitalize their connection to the meaningful and deepest aspects of themselves. In these busy and challenging times, being able to find refuge in environments which instill deep peace, seems to be more essential than ever. Solitude, quiet, and rest are important aspects of healthy living, helping to restore our sense of spirit. Like Bhante Dharmawara, the 109 year old Cambodian monk once said, "Silent retreats, or meditation courses, are an essential part of Spiritual practice." Mindfulness and awareness enhance all aspects of our lives. By cultivating deeper states of mindfulness, we grace our lives with more profound presence and connection, Awareness allows us to see the hidden beauty, the "Jewel within the Lotus" which is always present, but often covered by our clinging and worrisome minds. With the intention of restful silence, shared compassion, and focused practice, we as a group develop a deep bond of universal friendship and create liberating moments of pure emptiness. Throughout the weekend we'll be using awareness of breath, heart, and space to re-awaken our true source of being.

Your guides for the Weekend

Mahan Rishi Singh Khalsa and Nirbha Kaur Khalsa have both dedicated their lives to the practice and teaching of meditation as a way to enhance deeper states of compassion, awareness, and universality. They have been traveling, teaching, and sharing in various parts of the world since the mid-seventies. In exploring the practices of numerous traditions, they bring a broad spectrum of collective knowledge to their retreats and workshops. Under the direct guidance of Yogi Bhajan for 25 years, they have had the opportunity to practice under conditions that have challenged them to their fullest. Transformed by these experiences, they have committed their lives to bringing the ancient teachings of meditation into everyday life. Also assisting this weekend are Valerie Brown and Hari Jot Kaur who are both dedicated practitioners and teachers of mindfulness meditation. They bring a unique and joyful approach to their classes. We are honored to have them return for this gathering.

KIRKRIDGE & COLUMCILLE

Our gathering will be held at Turning point, a circular meditation center overlooking a beautiful valley, in the Pocono
Mountains of Eastern Pennsylvania. Over the years, Kirkridge has become a comforting sanctuary for many groups
and organizations dedicated to upholding ways of peace. The warm and inspiring space in the Turning Point sanctuary,
along with the simple and comfortable dining hall, make for an ideal environment for inner practice. Throughout the
Kirkridge land are numerous trails, nice for walking meditation and  leisure.

Adjacent to Kirkridge is Columcille, a Celtic center which also provides a number of beautiful settings for meditative
practice. In the ancient tradition of Celtic practitioners, many "standing stones" have been placed helping to provide
a deeper connection with our Earth, and inner Spirit. These stones, which are millions of years old, enhance the
feeling of timelessness and mystical relationship between Nature and Self.
Both of these centers create a perfect opportunity for experiencing deep peace, relaxation and rejuvenation.
